Three New Shows Announced for Hull New Theatre in 2021

Productions telling the tales of one of the biggest boy bands in the world, two squeaky clean kids and three friends take centre stage at Hull New Theatre next year.

The sensational story of five brothers from Utah who were pushed into the spotlight as children and went on to create smash hits decade after decade will be told in THE OSMONDS: A New Musical, from 26 – 30 October, 2021.

Written by drummer in the band Jay Osmond, this brand new show documents The Osmonds’ remarkable career from their star residency on The Andy Williams Show, to the arrival of Donny and Marie and their incredible lives recording chart topping albums, selling out vast arena concerts and making record breaking TV shows – until one bad decision cost them everything.

It features the full list of the band’s anthems including Love Me For A Reason, Crazy Horses, Let Me In, Puppy Love, Long Haired Lover From Liverpool, and Paper Roses.

There are rather naughtier musical masterpieces in store with the Rocky Horror Show from 5 -10 April, 2021. Join Brad and his fiancée Janet on the adventure of a lifetime as their car breaks down outside a creepy mansion leading to a chance encounter with the charismatic Dr Frank’n’Furter.

Directed by Christopher Luscombe and featuring timeless classics, including Sweet Transvestite, Damn it Janet, and the pelvic-thrusting Time Warp, there’s little wonder this naughty blockbuster has been seen by more than 30 million theatregoers worldwide and continues to sell-out venues across the world.

A decidedly less risqué adventure awaits Igglepiggle, Upsy Daisy, Makka Pakka and friends in their fun-filled live show Igglepiggle’s Busy Day! –on 26 and 27 June, 2021.

This family favourite includes all the CBeebies characters beautifully brought to life with full-size costumes, magical puppets, enchanting music and the amazing flying Pinky Ponk as Igglepiggle looks for his friends in the Night Garden by following their funny sounds until he finds them all.
