If you’re putting together a party for your little ones or you’re an adult looking for a good scare, there’s a cinematic treat, or trick, for you. It’s time to get comfy, then get spooked and check out these incredible Halloween films.

The Nightmare Before Christmas (PG)

It’s a Halloween classic, and for good reason, the film is an artistic masterpiece combining dark fantasy, humor, romance, and a stellar soundtrack. It follows the Pumpkin King, Jack Skellington, as he sets out to bring Christmas to Halloween Town and the real world. Unsurprisingly, this makes for a rather spooky Christmas that may not be suitable for some children.

The Shining (15)

A classic horror film that is well worth a re-watch, The Shining is famous for its suspense, gore, and shock value. It follows an aspiring writer and recovering alcoholic, Jack, who decides to work as an off-season caretaker in a hotel with his family. Unfortunately for his family, he has supernatural abilities that drive him insane with nightmarish consequences.
