What's it about?
After a successful re-launch in July C.C.C is back in the swing of things with full momentum and do we have a show for you. We have a superb headliner in the form of Brian Higgins. Our opener Kelli! Taylor is the embodiment of the phrase “why fit in when you can stand out”. Along for the ride we have Daniel Triscott and Lois Mills rocking our middle section. All hosted by the fantastic Andy Woolston (Jed’s mate).
Please be aware for this show there has been a day change. We have moved to a Wednesday night now.
Brian is one of the most experienced headline acts on the comedy circuit. He moved to London in his teens from a small fishing Village in central Scotland. Armed only with a penknife, catapult and a bag full of tadpoles he set out to make his fortune. Twenty years later he still has the penknife. Brian has a real passion for comedy, and it shows in an impeccably delivered cheeky upbeat set, which never fails to deliver the goods.
Topical material alongside well crafted stories of fatherhood, pregnancy and all related subject matters. He has a high turnover of material and that maybe one of the reasons he has been a headline act for the last fourteen years.
Brian has had countless appearances on radio, with the likes of Talk Sport, Fred MacAulay show and numerous TV shows, Funny Business, The Warehouse and award winning short film Pub fiction with Al Murray.
“Daft but very funny” – William Cook, The Guardian.
“The people’s favourite comedian” – The List.
“A live wire and skilful” – Time out, Malcolm Hardy.
With support from Kelli! Taylor
Kelli! Taylor is a psychic hairdresser to the stars. Based in 2017s City Of Culture, Hull; of which she’s fiercely proud. She’s spreading the #ComeAndPullInHull.
She has an enviable client list; Maureen Lipman, Roland Gift’s mum, someone who got through to the judges houses on X Factor, but none of that has changed her, not one bit. Well, maybe a bit.
Being psychic is a blessing and a curse for Kelli!, but so is spelling your name with an exclamation mark.
Also featuring Lois Mills
Lois Mills is a character comedian and actor, often described as weird and quirky due to her plethora of odd and unusual characters, she is certainly one you won’t forget in a hurry!
“That was good” – Lois’s mate Keith
And Dan Triscott
Bringing a forensic approach to comedy, Dan Triscott specialises in constructing Steven-Wright-esque one liners and short comedic ideas that range from the subtly surreal to the down right idiotic. No theme, no real opinions, just comedy mechanics in action.
“Absolutely excellent one-liners.” – The Stand, Newcastle
Hosted by Andy Woolston
Andy can be described as a gig gypsy, travelling up, down and across the country selling his comedy wares. Forging a career has come down to two things for Andy, one, his outstanding skills for observational wit that he mixes with a man-child humour that has the audience breathless and number two, the fact that’s he’s best friends with Jed Salisbury.
“We aren’t best friends, we’re just good friends!” – Jed Salisbury
