Let your Freak Flag fly and join Hessle Theatre Company for “Shrek the musical” auditions.

Hessle Theatre Company will be holding auditions on Sunday 7th July 2019 from 9am for principals and chorus at Hessle Town Hall, with the evening of Monday 8th July reserved for call-backs if necessary. Everyone is welcome to audition, whether they have performed with us before or not, so please feel free to spread the word!

To familiarise you with the show, there is a sing-through evening on Monday 10th June at 7.30pm at Hessle Town Hall where you will be able to hear first-hand information from the director (Martin Beaumont) about the show and sing through the audition pieces with the musical director (Alan Drever-Smith).

There is no need to complete an audition form for this evening – just turn up. For preview glimpses of the show try searching ‘Youtube’ for ‘Shrek the Musical’ where there are clips you may find useful.

Once the show is cast, rehearsals will take place between late September 2019 and April 2020 on Monday / Wednesday / Friday / Sundays as needed. They are currently looking at rehearsal venues and will confirm details at a later date.

Note: There are a couple of roles for children, but they will not be auditioning children until later. They will post announcements once dates have been agreed. This will likely be in October. Interested children are welcome to attend the sing-through evening on Monday 10th June.

Nearer to the audition weekend (about a week before) a timetable will be sent and posted on the HTC website to let you know when you will be needed.
