What's it about?
Battered and Berthed is an free exhibition and a pop-up art gallery, containing the treasures of the Methodist Modern Art Collection. On show in Hull for the first time, this is a display of 28 pieces of art from national and international artists depicting biblical scenes.
Organised by the Believe in Hull church partnership, the gallery is open to the public from 10-5 from Thursday to Saturday and 1.30-5pm on Sundays. From Monday to Wednesday, it is available exclusively for groups.
From Sunday 5th November, 6.30pm, there will be a weekly Reflections evening where a church leader will give a talk on what a particular painting means to them.
From Thursday 16th November, an “arts house” programme will provide entertainment and activities to coincide with Christmas late-night shopping, including live music, story-telling and puppetry.
