Bleakhaus Presents BDRMM with support from DITZ + Van Houten
Doors 8 pm
Tickets £5 + Bf from seetickets
Channelling hazy adolescent disconnection into a washy synthesis of the synth soaked Beach House, jangly slackers DIIV and otherworldly shoegazers Slowdive, bdrmm combine a flair for weaving together dreamy sonic textures and introverted, personal small-town sketches. They’ve found a kindred spirit in cult shoegaze label Sonic Cathedral (Spectres, Lorelle Meets The Obsolete, Echo Ladies), who are releasing gently anthemic new single Question Mark in both digital & 7” form as part of their Singles Club series.
With their sound firmly rooted in the Brighton hardcore scene, DITZ make neurotic angular thrash punk that pulls you into its paranoid drama. The quintet have garnered a reputation for their wild energetic shows, playing alongside other excellent acts such as LICE and Pulled Apart By Horses. Van Houten are a Psychedelic Pop band whose origins lie in the same vein as Lo-Fi Indie artists such as Ariel Pink, Jay Som and Mac Demarco. Over time, through rigorous experimentation, the band have discovered new ways of capturing and producing their music, taking on more influence from the psychedelic sounds of the sixties and early seventies and have crafted a refined sound that is packed with colorful sonic textures, and dense soundscape which provide an effortless platform for the Pop melodies and catchy hooks. Having released two singles in 2018, Van Houten have now teamed up with Producer Martin Smith (Gomez, Bombay Bicycle Club, Richard Hawley) to take their music to the next level
