Introducing a magical new adventure for children that will see them board the PQ Express train to the North Pole to meet Santa and his Elves in their workshop where they will take part in Christmas crafting activities before meeting the big man himself.
And for children that have been good all year, they’ll receive a gift from Santa!
This year we wanted to break from tradition and create a magical experience that would wow the children inside a controlled area. We can generate a fantastic atmosphere with lighting and sound which
really enhances the experience for everyone to enjoy.
Officially opening from 12noon on Sunday 19 November right up until Christmas Eve, the
PQ Express can be found on Level 2 at Princes Quay, opposite Ernest Jones jewellers.
Visitors can expect to arrive at a station platform before boarding the PQ Express, which will take them on a short journey prior to arriving at the Elves workshop in the North Pole. After joining in with some activities, children will then visit Santa in his festive grotto.
You do not have to book to visit Santa, however families are encouraged to pre-book their visit online via the Princes Quay website to avoid queues. Tickets are priced at £6 for each child. There is an online booking fee of 50p per transaction.
Your personalised entry ticket includes a magical train ride to The North Pole, a visit to the Elves workshop where you’ll create your very own decorations and take part in activities including Christmas colouring in sheets, plus meeting Santa and receiving a special gift.
Official photographs are also taken with Santa and can be purchased at the end of your visit. The grotto will also host a sensory friendly hour every Thursday, 9.30am – 10am and 6pm – 7pm, designed to be an inclusive and welcoming environment for people with sensory sensitives and their loved ones, the lighting will be brighter and the noise levels lowered at these specific sessions. Sessions must be booked online via princesquay.com/grotto
