    What's it about?

    Duncan Ward Conductor
    Yury Revich Violin

    Programme:

    SCHUMANN Genoveva Overture

    MENDELSSOHN Violin Concerto

    TCHAIKOVSKY Symphony No.5

Schumann’s Genoveva Overture opens with restless, passionate strings and hunting calls from the horns before Yury Revich takes to the stage to perform Mendelssohn’s tender and emotive Violin Concerto.

Closing the concert is Tchaikovsky’s grand Symphony No.5, which alternates between light and dark, melancholy and joy, in what is considered as one of the most-loved symphonies of all time.
