What's it about?
Combining dark hypnotic pop with post-punk influences, exciting York-based quartet The Howl & The Hum are live in Hull on November 17th for a headline show!
The Howl & The Hum are a miserable disco who write Bond themes for films where Jimmy is still hung up on that girl. They combine dark hypnotic pop with post-punk influences, pierced with lyrics that make you call your mum the next morning.
They combine their rumbling, melodic dark pop with haunting, evocative lyrics, and a hypnotic yet energetic live show.
With a magpie mentality they cut their teeth playing in, and learning from local bands and busking, with a strong songwriting core and an inventive, progressive view on what place guitar music has in today’s culture. Their inspirations ranging from Leonard Cohen and Phoebe Bridgers to Lizzo and Kendrick Lamar, and have been likened to Massive Attack, Radiohead and Alt-J.
With support from Talkboy, a six piece indie rock band based in Leeds.
