Hull’s new dedicated concert venue has announced three shows that will be heading to the new 3,500 capacity venue later this year.
Hull’s very own Reece Shearsmith is to bring The League of Gentlemen to the region’s newest venue this September. The cult TV show will visit Hull Venue on 4 September.
The League of Gentlemen will return to the stage in 2018 for their first UK tour in over 12 years with their brand new live show ‘The League of Gentlemen Live Again!’ BAFTA Award winning comedy legends Reece Shearsmith, Steve Pemberton, Mark Gatiss and Jeremy Dyson will bring their dark and unhinged fictional village of Royston Vasey to Hull and other theatres and arenas across the country.
Strictly Come Dancing – The Professionals will visit Hull Venue on 19 May 2019. Direct from BBC One’s award-winning prime time TV show Strictly Come Dancing, this glamorous production will bring together some of our much-loved Strictly Professional dancers as they take to the stage to dazzle with their dance prowess. Audiences will enjoy the incredible talent of these world-class dancers as they perform exquisitely choreographed Ballroom and Latin routines with all the sequins, sparkle and stunning production values we have come to know and love!
Roger Taylor & Brian May’s Queen Extravaganza will visit Hull Venue on 28 October. Described by Roger Taylor himself as ‘a rock celebration in the Royal tradition’, the new show is designed to enable new fans together with fans of old to celebrate the music of Queen.
The 2018 shows will be billed as the ‘Queen’s Greatest Hits Tour’ with the promise to deliver all the hits any Queen fan could want to hear – “Bohemian Rhapsody,” “Another One Bites the Dust,” “Crazy Little Thing Called Love,” “Under Pressure
Dan Harris, General Manager at Hull Venue, said: “We are delighted to announce our first three shows, particularly Reece Shearsmith’s ‘homecoming’ with The League of Gentlemen. This will be one of the very first shows to perform at the Venue. There are lots more announcements and some really exciting events which we’ll be revealing in the coming weeks.”
