December is finally here, which means Christmas shopping is in full swing. But why get swept-up in the hustle and bustle of big shopping centres, when you can visit Paragon Arcade, to find that perfect Christmas gift.

Paragon Arcade is fast becoming the new home to independent shops and cafes in Hull’s City Centre. Built in 1891 this beautiful Victorian Arcade is one of Hull’s oldest shopping centres and was taken over by Anlaby Commercial back in 2017.

Since Anlaby Commercial’s takeover of the Arcade, they have spent the past year refurbishing old units into stunning retail spaces, attracting innovative independent retailers to the quirky City Centre space.

Over the past years, new coffee shops, eateries, clothes shops, and craft beer shops have taken up residence, as well as keeping some of their traditional older shops such as the recognisable sweetshop, The Treat Box.

So, this festive season why not take a wander through this impressive Victorian Arcade and see what unique presents you can find, or simply have a rest from the rush of Christmas shopping with a coffee and slice of cake in one of their new cafes.

Inside Paragon Arcade you can find:

Segals Jewellers– If you’re looking for something extra special this Christmas, pop into the one of the arcades oldest residence, Segals Jewellers. A Family run company dealing in antique, new & second-hand jewellery.

Two Gingers Coffeehouse- For a brilliant coffee, with exquisite milk foam patterns, take a well-earned break from shopping in this cool and stylish coffeehouse.

Marla’s Eatery– Fancy some heart-warming and homely food on a cold day? Then Marla’s eatery is the perfect place to stop. It may look deceivingly small from the outside, but there is a wonderful large retro sitting area upstairs, with arched windows looking out over the Victorian arcade.

Silver Springs– This a is a great stop for fashion-lovers, with a mix of printed Tees and vintage clothing, bags and small gifts, it’s definitely worth a visit on one of your Christmas shopping trips.

The Flower Corner– This florist has a great selection of seasonal flowers, whether you are looking for a festive centre piece for your table or a bouquet of flowers for a loved one.

PJ Barbers– Looking for sharpen up this Christmas? PJ Barbers is a brilliant classic barber in the heart of the Arcade, offering men’s hair cuts

White Rabbit Chocolatiers– One of the Arcades newest residence, White Rabbit Chocolatiers, is an artisan chocolate shop, which handcrafts all its own luxury chocolate truffles.

The Treat Box – Don’t miss your chance to get some of your favourite traditional and retro sweets this Christmas from The Treat Box, their party bags and sweet hampers are truly a speciality.

80 Days Bier Markt – This is the ideal place to grab a gift for beer lovers this Christmas. This Craft Beer shop offers a massive selection of the best beer and glasses from all around the world!

As well as providing a space for brilliant independent retailers and cafes and offering a truly unique shopping experience, Paragon Arcade also runs a Monthly Late-Night event.

Hosted by six of the great businesses within the Arcade, the shop owners work together to bring a special evening, showcasing and serving the food, drink, music, fashion, chocolate, character that Paragon Arcade has to offer. United under their motto ‘community over competition.’

Their next monthly event will be held on 1st December from 5:30pm to 10:30pm.
