Why you should see Tango Moderno in Hull this week

This week’s offering from the Hull New Theatre is the dance spectacular starring those much loved former Strictly Come Dancing stars, Vincent Simone and Flavia Cacace.

We were taken through a series of slickly choreographed dances in a variety of styles from Latin to Hip Hop with the guidance of narrator and singer Tom Parsons.  The narration included modern poetry and contemporary songs.

Vincent and Flavia weaved their sultry and yet slick dancing between a troupe of excellent dancers making a commentary of finding modern love and casting romantic spells onto the couples.

There was a clever use of props throughout the evening from Front doors on wheels to wheelbarrows and lawn mowers with many light-hearted moments.

If you are expecting an evening of pure traditional tango, you will be pleasantly entertained with tango from a different angle plus many other styles of dance, plenty of superb singing and colourful costumes.

Don’t miss this show.  It is well worth making a visit to the theatre this week before it moves on. It’s showing until this Saturday (10 Feb) with matinee and evening performances on Thursday and Saturday. You can pick up tickets from just £21.50 at hulltheatres.co.uk, in person at the New Theatre and City Hall box offices or by phone on 01482 300 306
