Got a sweet tooth? So do we! And we know all the best places in Hull & East Yorkshire to get the right grub to sink that sweet tooth into. From donuts to brownies, we’ve got it all in Hull! Here are 8 of our favourite local bakery treats you can order from today.

Revival Coffee and Donuts

77 Ferensway, Hull, HU2 8LD

Revival are one of our favourite local eateries, and have been since I first laid eyes on their obscene donuts. Handmade on site, Revival produce some amazing vegan donuts in a range of different flavours including: Blueberry Crumble; Cookies ‘n’ Cream; White Chocolate, Raspberry & Pistachio; Caramel Pretzel; and Hazelnut Cream.

A single donut will cost you £3.50, a box of three is £10, and a box of six is £17.

During lockdown you’ll have to pre-order for weekend click & collect/delivery which you can do via their website.

Flower and Feast

10 Humber St, Hull, HU1 1TG

Flower and Feast managed to open their shop down Humber Street last November during the pandemic. They are all about homemade; everything that is for sale in the bakery is made by them on the premises. From granola to compote to the custard in your donut, it’s homemade.

Flower and Feast don’t exactly have a menu as they like to change their bakes daily depending on what ingredients they can source. However you can always expect to see bread, vegan cinnamon buns, croissants, pain au chocolat, cookies, marshmallow brownie, and granola pots.

They’re available for pre-orders via their Instagram account and they’re also open for walk-ins: Wed-Fri 8-4 & Sat/Sun 9-4.

Cocoa Chocolatier and Bakehouse

Trinity Market, Trinity House Ln, Hull, HU1 2JH

Since early 2015, Cocoa has been a Trinity Market staple and has provided Hull with proper artisan produce made from scratch and with fantastic ingredients. As well as their handmade chocolates, Cocoa create an ever changing selection of cakes and savoury options.

They’re available to order online via their website and they’re also open for walk-ins: Tues-Sat 10-3.

The Dirty Doughnut

Donuts are the name of the game over at The Dirty Doughnut, and they’re doing it right. Obscene, fresh, handmade donuts delivered straight to your door. Fried, glazed and dispatched the very same day; does it get much better than that?

A local delivery box of three donuts will set you back £12 and six costs £20.

You have a choice of Biscoff, Caramac, Party Rings, Jammie Dodger, Oreo & Nutella, lemon meringue, Milky Way, or White Lion Bar.

You can order via their website >

Hang Out Artisan Bakehouse

165 High St, Hull, HU1 1NE

This city centre newcomer is already racking up a lot of hype and it’s easy to see why. Hang Out offers a wide range of delicious sweet treats including cookies, brownies, blondies, babka, and even some savoury offerings such as sandwiches, sausage rolls and flatbread.

As it’s neatly located in Hull’s museum quarter, we imagine you’ll want to visit Hang Out in person for your daily government sanctioned walk – however you can order from home as well via Just Eat. They are open for walk-ins Mon-Sun 9-3.

Fat Gecko Bakery

Fat Gecko are all about ‘home style baking’. I hear you ask, what does that mean? It means delicious, fresh, homemade desserts that can be delivered to your door. It doesn’t get much better than.

Fat Gecko Bakery have an extensive menu including different types of dessert trays. But their speciality is the ‘school dinner puddings’. So if you want to relive the glory days but have it actually taste good (sorry dinner ladies), then Fat Gecko is the place for you.

Alessandro’s Italian Bakery

Trinity Market, Trinity House Ln, Hull, HU1 2JH

Heading back over to Trinty Market, you’ll find Alessandro’s – an authentic Italian bakery. They source all of their ingredients from Italy and is all made on site by Italian chef, Alessandro.

Whilst Alessandro’s offers a wide range of fantastic Italian savoury dishes (including pizzas, calzones, and pasta), it’s their pastries and desserts that have our attention in this article.

You can find fresh, authentic, mouth-watering Italian pastries and desserts such as cannoli, chocolate/pistachio filled sfogliatine, tiramisu, and a range of gelatos.

Dirty Pudds

Dirty Pudds make deluxe sized jars of ‘dirty deliciousness’ and deliver it straight to your door; nice right? These cheesecake pots have been selling like hot cakes recently and demand even brought down their website briefly.

Their different flavours include Battenberg, Jammy Dodger, Caramac, and Ferrero. They’ve even got some limited edition Easter products including a special chocolate orange cheesecake pot.

You can order via their website >
