Hull City Council has today published a decision record appointing Hull contractor Geo Houlton & Sons Ltd as the lead contractor that undertake the redevelopment and reinstatement works required at 52A – 54 Beverley Road (Brunswick Arcade).

The contract totals £2,186,128 and will involve the careful demolition and clearance of the existing remaining structure at these premises, plus a rebuild of the structure that will create shell retail units on the ground floor, and fully completed residential apartments above on the first, second, and third floor levels.

Funding to develop the project includes the National Lottery Heritage Fund and a contribution from the council’s Capital Programme budget.

Councillor Daren Hale, Leader of Hull City Council said: “For far too long this area has been of a blot on the landscape and I am extremely pleased that work will finally start soon.

“I’m delighted to have trusted local developers Houlton & Sons on board who I know will deliver this project to the highest standard.”

Work will begin on site later this summer and is estimated to be complete Autumn 2022.
