The second lockdown is fast approaching so it’s time to get comfortable and check out the amazing films coming this week. There are some stellar offerings on TV, Netflix, and Sky, and if you love films like me, there’s still a lot to look forward to.

This week I recommend: Rosemary’s Baby, What’s Eating Gilbert Grape, Trainspotting 2, Ghost, The Homesman, Climax, and Doctor Sleep. Enjoy!

November 4th

  • Ash Is Purest White (2018)
Coming to Sky Cinema this week: Romance set in an industrial city in China. Qiao, a young dancer, falls in love with a gangster called Bin. During an altercation with a rival gang, Qiao uses a gun to save Bin and is subsequently sent to prison for five years.

November 6

  • Doctor Sleep (2019)
Coming to Sky Cinema this week: Years after the events of The Shining, grown-up Danny Torrance remains traumatised by his childhood and the events that took place at the Overlook Hotel. After meeting Abra, a teen who can also ‘shine’, Danny is forced to protect her from a cult who try to feed off the ‘shine’ of innocents to become immortal.

November 7

  • Lucy in the Sky (2019)
Coming to Sky Cinema this week: An astronaut returns to Earth after an awe-inspiring experience in outer space and starts to lose touch with reality in a world that feels too small. Starring Natalie Portman, Jon Hamm, and Zazie Beetz.
