5 Excellent Events Online This Week

As most of us are still stuck inside and slowly but surely succumbing to the lockdown boredom, we need something that’s going to really entertain us. I think with this week’s list of events, I’ve got you sorted!

The Empowered Musician 2020

Wed 2 December 2020 10:00am – Thu 3 December 2020 5:00pm

It’s no surprise that musicians and other creative industries have had a nightmare of a year, no gigs, no tours and for many not a chance to get noticed, but I hope this next online event is a step in the right direction and will shine some light on such an awful situation!

This event is a free two day online conference for music professionals and upcoming artists. The stream is an opportunity for musicians either new to the industry or established, to discuss any key issues they’re encountering in these troublesome times.

The discussion will offer a chance to gain practical advice in overcoming the challenges artists are facing in the industry due to the impact of COVID-19 and will explore ways artists can remain productive and creative during the pandemic with input from leading industry professionals.

LETZ ZEP

Sat 5 December 2020 7:30pm

If you’re missing going to gigs as much as I am, then this next event is for you! This is an exciting online live event from one of the world’s leading tribute acts LETZ ZEP! An evening of rock n’ roll, a full set of Led Zeppelin’s greatest hits including, Whole Lotta Love, Kashmir, Immigrant Song, Black Dog , Rock n Roll, When The Levee Breaks, and an exclusive conversation with the band themselves!

But if all that doesn’t convince you, when Robert Plant himself has said “I walked in, I saw me” about this Led Zeppelin tribute band, you know you’re in for a fantastic evening! This could be a nice break from everyday life, not quite gig normality but in my opinion, definitely worth purchasing a ticket!

Jessie J:Live In LA

Sun 6 December 2020 8:00pm

Another music event! It’s so comforting to see a spark of live music again, even if it is virtual! More and more musicians seem to be having a go at the virtual stage as the weeks go by, we’ve seen the likes of Metallica and Liam Gallagher do so already, this time however is multi-platinum, BRIT and GRAMMY award-winning artist, Jessie J!

Fans will get the chance to see her live once again after over a year of no performances, no fault of her own of course! The event will be broadcast in full HD and Jessie will have the whole band performing alongside! What’s even better is when you buy a ticket to this event your money goes towards supporting artists to continue making the music you love!

Sew Over It’ Big Christmas Sew – Make A Christmas Garland!

This next event is something a little different but seeing as it’s basically Christmas now I thought it would be worth a mention for anyone crafty who is stuck inside isolating!

Join the Christmas party with Lisa Comfort and the team at Sew Over It, as they teach you how to create your own Christmas Gartland! With the session being of Christmas theme, you’re encouraged to pull out and show off your best festive jumpers with the hosts and other guests.

Lisa, your host, will be covering a variety of hand sewing and embroidery techniques including French knots, blanket stitches and more, making it an informative and interactive event.

Don’t worry if you don’t finish your gartland in the session, as you will also receive a recording of the event afterwards!

‘I Can Do It’ Circuit Workout

Sun 6 December 2020 10:00am

Next is an event that will do your body some good and get you out of that couch groove! Organised by Ricefield Arts and hosted by instructor Pui Lee, this is an hour long fitness class including a selected mixture of cardio, strength and flexibility exercises designed to work and improve your body!

If you’re like me and hate one type of exercise or get bored easily, then this class might be right for you! As they offer a range of cardio exercises that change rapidly, which sounds scary but it’s not, this class states it is perfect for both advanced and completely new beginners. None of the exercises will be too complicated and challenging if you’re new to cardio, just a variety that beats an hour-long run!
