Excellent Online Events To Keep The Family Entertained This Week

We are back with 5 excellent online events to keep the family entertained while you’re staying in and keeping safe this week! Full of fun family-friendly theatre shows, panto performances, and interactive live streams, this week’s list is perfect for the festive season! 

Immersive Christmas Event & Workshop

19th & 20th & 24th December 2020

Storystock, famous for its Royal Opera House live-literature shows and immersive workshops, presents a fantastic online experience for children this Christmas. Storystock has been working alongside Father Christmas and his magical friends at the North Pole all year, to make sure that your little ones can still experience the wonders of the festive season, from the comfort of your home.

Not only will your little ones get to virtually meet Santa and receive an extra special message from the North Pole, but Father Christmas himself will also be reading his favourite story, The Polar Express!

Santa will be joined by his cheeky and mischievous elves, who will be helping teach your little ones how to make some fun and easy festive decorations. Father Christmas will also be joined by the wonderful and famed children’s book author Sophy Henn, to bring you a fantastic draw-along workshop with a Christmasy twist!

The McDougalls Christmas Party

16th -24th December 2020

Famed children’s theatre company, The McDougalls, will take the stage once again with a fun live theatre show for all the family. The show will be jam-packed with festive party games, sing-alongs, and entertaining dance routines.

Popular characters Auntie Aggie and Morag the Rabbit present your little ones with the most fantastically fun and festive party of the year! This immersive show will be an extra special treat for the kids as they will get to experience one-to-one character interaction and heaps of audience participation activities.

Lost in Pantoland Live Show

19th – 24th December 2020

The Uk’s largest youth theatre company, Pace Theatre, is back for the festive season with their 33rd pantomime, Lost in Pantoland!

Lost in Pantoland is a live and interactive Christmas show, featuring pantos’ most beloved favourites, Chris Alexander, Alan Orr, Darren Brownlie, and Dani Heron. For this special live performance, the company is going all-out on audience participation and activities, getting the little ones involved in the story, and interacting with all the characters. Making this show an unforgettable experience for the family! 

There are multiple dates you can catch this interactive performance leading all the way up to Christmas Eve, a perfect Christmas treat.

Duckie Online Theatre Performance

December 2020 – January 2021

This next show is a creative reinvention of beloved family-favourite and children’s story, The Ugly Duckling. Hosted by Home Theatre and produced by show star Le Gateau Chocolat, Duckie is a family-friendly adventure of self-discovery and self-acceptance. This event is safe for people with autism spectrum conditions and suitable for people with sensory or learning difficulties.

Peter Pan: A Musical Adventure

19th December 2020 – 1st January 2021

The award-winning duo behind Broadway’s beloved Mary Poppins, George Stiles, and Anthony Drewe present their own heart-warming take of Peter Pan, the story of the boy who wouldn’t grow up. Available to stream anytime on any device, audiences of all ages and from all around the world can stream this free and newly re-mastered, 80-minute feature film packed with dances, sing-alongs, and theatre fun!
