Hull Minster

Until 13 May 2017, Hull Minster was the Holy Trinity Church, the largest parish church in the whole of England.

The building dates back to about 1300 and contains some of the finest medieval brick-work in the UK, particularly in the transepts. The Minster Church is now a Grade I listed building and William Wilberforce, who led the parliamentary campaign against the slave trade, was baptised here.

In November 2014 plans were unveiled for extensive renovations to begin from 2016 onwards, costing a total of £4.5 million. The refurbishment is designed to create a modern community space which can cater for performances, exhibitions, and more.
