What New Rules Could Mean for Hull Gyms, Pubs & Restaurants After Lockdown

Boris Johnson has outlined the plans for England after this current lockdown ends on 2 December, involving a return to the three-tier regional system, but with stronger measures.

Outlining the new system of restrictions, Prime Minister Boris Johnson said that in tier three areas, all hospitality must close (apart from delivery and takeaway) and in tier two areas, alcohol may only be served with “substantial meals”.

If Hull & East Yorkshire enter Tier Three restrictions post-lockdown…

Given the high number of infections in Hull & East Yorkshire right now, it’s likely that the region will enter tier three when the national lockdown ends on Wednesday 2 December, but this won’t be confirmed until Thursday.

All retail will be allowed to open, not just those selling essential items, and gyms and indoor leisure will be able to reopen.

Indoor entertainment venues will need to remain closed and all pubs, bars and restaurants will continue to only offer takeaway, delivery and drive-thru.

Hotels and places to stay will need to remain closed with limited exceptions and we’ll all still need to avoid travelling in and out of the area.

As infections reduce in each region, we’ll all be able to do more as before. The government have published their full tiered restrictions guide on the gov.uk website.
