This week there are plenty of great events and night outs on offer in Hull & East Yorkshire that will get you out of the house and having fun! Here are the top 5 events I’ve discovered this week…
Open Deck DJ Sessions
KINGS, Market Place, Hull
This and every Friday from 2pm
Last weekend saw the launch of Open Deck DJ Sessions at KINGS, one of Hull’s newest live music venues and creative spaces. The venue which opened mid-July this year already has such a massive buzz about it and has become a favoured stop for many, and rightfully so! The venue serves great tasties, has excellent decor, and is pumping out new events regularly. So this Friday, if you think of yourself as a bit of a DJ or know a mate who definitely does, or if you just fancy a cocktail and want to support local artists and Hull’s newest venue, pop down to Old Town and into KINGS who will be hosting half-an-hour open slots all day every Friday.
Saturday Night Live
Comedy Lounge, George St, Hull
This and every Saturday from 6pm
Instead of spending the nights watching repeats on Comedy Central, why not take a trip to Hull’s very own Comedy Lounge! Known for its lively atmosphere, great food and drinks, fantastic table service, and of course, outstanding live comedy! Every week the popular Hull venue hosts brilliant live comedy acts, and this weekend will be no different! With a lineup of Joe Zalias, James Cook, Phil Walker, and headliner Silky, Saturday’s at Comedy Lounge are definitely worth checking out! Â
Saturday is looking to be a busy one already so it’s recommended you book quickly through the Comedy Lounge website to avoid disappointment.
Vintage Warehouse Sale
Bontoft Avenue, Hull
Sat 10th October 2020 from 10am
This event is one for all you wonderful vintage lovers and fast fashion renouncers! Worth The Weight is opening its doors once again to the public for the popular Weigh & Pay event this Saturday located down Bontoft Avenue. With new measures in place, you can safely rummage through mountains of fantastic Grade A vintage stock and old school threads.
Movie Night at The Piper
Newland Avenue, Hull
Tues 6th October 2020 from 7pm
You may know popular Hull club The Piper for the famous Loaded Indie Friday and Get Lucky Monday, but The Piper is more than just a favourite boozer! The venue is now hosting movie nights every Tuesday evening on their impressive 5 metre HD screen. The film choice this week is the multi-award-winning musical and family favourite, The Greatest Showman. It’s likely tables will go fast this week, and the line-up for the rest of October is looking pretty exciting too! So be quick in booking your tickets which are available on their website to avoid missing out.Â
Chantel McGregor
Cottingham Civic Hall, Market Green, Cottingham
Fri 9th October 2020 from 7:30pm
Once again you can enjoy Friday Night Live at Cottingham’s Civic Hall this weekend with a special acoustic performance from one of the UK’s most impressive blues-rock artists, Chantel McGregor.
