2020 is finally behind us and 2021 is kicking off with a cruelty-free bang with Veganuary this month. And what time to give veganism a try with more and more restaurants offering plant-based options as well as specialised vegan kitchens operating around Hull & East Yorkshire.

What is Veganuary?

Launched by a non-profit organisation of the same name, Veganuary is a 30-day challenge in which participants partake in a vegan diet throughout the month of January.

During their 2020 campaign, more than 400,000 people took the pledge to eat vegan, while more than 600 brands, restaurants, and supermarkets across the country promoted the campaign resulting in more than 1200 new vegan products and menus in the UK market alone.

What does a vegan diet include?

A vegan diet contains only plants (such as vegetables, grains, nuts and fruits) and foods made from plants.

Foods that come from animals, including dairy products and eggs are not included in the vegan diet.
